.hello, I'm Yingrui Chen

Cultivating a multidisciplinary, human-centered approach with a growth mindset is integral to my design process. I'm committed to a mindful balance of technology and humanity to avoid 'Black Mirror' scenarios, giving priority to purpose-driven designs over gut feelings.

.how I reach here

🌍 My journey among diverse majors all over the world

As a UX designer with a diverse educational background in architecture, service, and interaction design, I have the capability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and bridge the gap between various design languages. My strength lies in seamlessly zooming in and out between macro and micro dimensions, thanks to the detail-oriented mindset and systematic thinking I've acquired through previous experiences.

Sorry, I'm not a rigid rule follower. During my second year of my master's degree, I pursued an internship in Munich and participated in an Erasmus program in Oslo. Fortunately, this one-year experience away from my university in Milan reinforced my passion for UX design. It inspired me to become a lifelong problem-solver, considering the perspectives of users, technology, and business.

While many view changing majors as a detour, I have retained the imaginative and visionary mindset I developed during my studies in architecture and landscape design. Over the past few years, I have engaged in speculative thinking, hands-on creation, and prototyping to maintain a high level of design enthusiasm and creativity. These experiences are precious gems that I will treasure throughout my life and design career.

.apart from my work

Maybe I got tired of skyscrapers, hiking is my way of recharging the battery and discovering surprises.

Gardening is my green therapy session, where I nurture plants that teach me about life.

An avid explorer always planning next adventure. Currently visited 14 countries and still counting.

While I may not grasp artists and genres, I 'get' modern art while secretly loving blank canvases.
